Plenty of ventilation Strong floor Light and economical Capacity of your choice

About this mold

Tomatoes and vegetables travel quickly from field and greenhouse to market and are loaded and unloaded several times on the way. A crate for these products needs plenty of ventilation so heat and moisture do not build up in the produce, a strong floor so it does not break under load, and a low enough cost to make sense even for one-way loads.

We design the tomato and vegetable crate mold for the capacity you need, from small crates up to 14 kg sizes. The vent pattern, wall thickness and crate weight are tuned to balance strength and the cost of each crate.

For standard sizes, see the 6 kg crate mold and the 14 kg crate mold.

Key features

Ventilation for fresh produce

Bigger and more numerous openings in the walls and floor carry heat and moisture away from tomatoes and vegetables.

Strength at a low weight

Ribs are placed where they are needed so the crate stays light and does not break under load.

Easy emptying

Smooth inner walls and rounded corners make emptying and washing the crate easy.

Stacking

Full crates stack firmly, and empty crates take up little space on the way back.

Frequently asked questions

What size tomato crate should I make?
It depends on your target market; 6 and 14 kg sizes are used the most, and smaller crates are common for export or retail tomatoes. During consultation we suggest the right size for your customers.
Is a tomato crate different from a fruit crate?
The main difference is more ventilation and a lighter weight, because fresh produce gives off heat and moisture and the crate is usually handled many times.
How much does a tomato crate mold cost?
It depends on capacity, dimensions and steel. Send a photo or the dimensions of the crate for an accurate estimate.
