About this mold
Fruit crate molds are a large part of our work, but more than 30 years of plastic injection mold making means we can also build molds for your other parts: packaging containers and boxes, household items, industrial parts and fittings, lids, and any plastic part that can be made from your sample, drawing or idea.
How a custom mold is made
- Consultation and feasibility: we review the part, the production volume, the material and your injection machine — free of charge.
- Design: modeling of the part and the mold, with the parting line, gate, ejection system and cooling.
- Manufacturing: machining, drilling, polishing and assembly of the mold.
- Test and delivery: test run on an injection machine, any necessary corrections and shipping of the mold.

Feasibility before manufacturing
Before any cost is incurred, we check whether the part can be injection molded and correct its design details.

Draft angles, uniform wall thickness and gate position are set so the part is produced without defects and on a short cycle.

For low and high volumes we recommend different steels and heat treatment so the mold cost stays reasonable.

It depends on the size and complexity of the part, the number of cavities, the steel and the ejection system. After the feasibility check we give you a written estimate.
Will you help set up the mold on my machine?
The mold is tested before delivery, and if needed we guide and support you in setting it up on your machine.
